Our Workshops: INTERVENTION BLOCK

Diamond Drama provide two unique and equally fantastic choices for your school.

1) Block Structure: Intervention Based Approach. (4 30-45 minute sessions)

· A range of workshops targeted at a pre-agreed set group of pupils.

· Specific focus, objective or target to achieve.

· Intervention style approach with the aim to develop key skills through the exploration of creative drama activities and unlocking imagination.

Each block of intervention style workshops include a range of creative exercises which have a specific focus or theme.

Themes Available Include:

- Expressing Emotion (understanding, expressing and respecting emotion through engaging & playful creative exploration).

- Superior Self Worth (providing children the opportunity to recognise the importance of positive self-esteem through creative drama exercises & instilling pupils’ faith and belief in their individual abilities).

- Create Confidence (understanding, building and maintaining confidence through the development and sharing of creative work).

Below are just a selection of varying objectives and outcomes that Diamond Drama aim to achieve throughout workshops and creative exploration:

· Pupils’ sense of self-worth & self-esteem whilst working in a creative and supportive environment

· Respect and consideration for others around them by the acknowledgement & accepting of ideas, encouragement of turn-taking and attentive listening

· Providing an alternative platform for pupils to express feelings, ideas & emotions within a safe, creative and performative space

· Understanding & awareness of pupils own emotional well-being and the feelings of others around them through the exploration of character, creative story & drama play

· Expand speech & language skills through narrative and story-telling. Developing who, what, when, where & why and directional instructions

· Ability to work positively as a member of a group whilst developing important skills such as leadership, discussion, problem solving

· Developing reading & comprehension skills through the use of script reading whilst recognising emotion and thinking profoundly about a character’ feelings

· Promote and encourage the school ethos
